The True Spirit of Christmas

It turns out that the phrase: “On Christmas miracles happen” isn’t just a cute little wish. Christmas is really connected with a lot of cosmic phenomena. While we rejoice at the roast pork and the presents under the Christmas tree somewhere high up in the starry sky real magic takes place. Do you remember the story of the Bethlehem star which announced Jesus’ birth and guided the tree prophets? Each year on Christmas the stars tell us this legend, we only need to open our eyes and hearts to it. On December the 24th the brightest star on the night sky - Sirius is aligned with three other stars called the Three Kings (by the way in Spain the little children are brought gifts by Los Reyes Magos or the three magical kings). On the 25th of December these stars are arranged in one line with the rising sun. It’s as if the Bethlehem star shows the way of the prophets to the new born Jesus Christ. According to pagan beliefs the 25th of December is the birth of the “new” Sun which gives life to the world. That’s why Christ is always represented with sun beams as a background. Here is another coincidence or maybe not- the ancient star sign for Virgo is an altered M like in Mother Mary. There are similar phenomena present in other religions. The Mother of Adonis is called Mira, while the name of Buddha’s mother is Maia. Nothing is a coincidence in the Universe, it seems. The fact that the Sun symbolically follows Jesus Christ’s path from the Crucifixion to the Resurrection is also interesting. The Sun moves south to the point of reaching the South Cross where it “fades away” for three days and then resurrects again. The world around us is full of miracles; we just need to have eyes to see them. Lift your gaze up on Christmas Eve and live your own magic!
